Our Story
We’re Basket, a Japanese clothing brand creating well-made, comfortable denim designed for everyday life.
Our products are crafted in Okayama, Japan — a region known worldwide as the heart of premium Japanese denim. For generations, artisans here have refined denim-making techniques with a focus on fabric quality, durability, and honest craftsmanship. We build on that heritage by carefully selecting Okayama denim and traditional fabrics, turning them into garments meant to be worn often and lived in.
A Story Born in a Small Town in Okayama
the story of these pants begins in a small town in Okayama Prefecture.
In Misaki Town, Kume District, a single encounter marked the beginning of one pair of denim balloon pants.
“I wish there were pants I could wear for work and go straight out in.”
Those words became the starting point for the design.

Rather than chasing trends, we focus on timeless design, comfort, and balance — clothing that fits naturally into daily life, whether you’re working, traveling, or spending time at home.

Ibara City, located in Okayama Prefecture, is renowned as one of Japan’s leading denim-producing regions.
The area has a long history of indigo-dyed textiles, thanks to its thriving cultivation of cotton and indigo, as well as its abundant supply of clean water—essential for textile dyeing.
Building on the weaving and sewing techniques developed through the production of traditional heavy-weight fabrics, Ibara became the first place in Japan to begin producing denim fabric.
Today, Ibara is known as the “Denim Holy Land of Japan,” and continues to be recognized around the world for its exceptional denim craftsmanship.
Staying true to what makes us unique.
We incorporated Sakushu Kasuri, a traditional textile from Okayama, into the design.
A small accent is placed at the upper edge of the side pocket opening.
Subtle yet distinctive, this detail reflects our desire to create something that feels understated, while giving each piece a special character.
